ACT3, SCENE2
The play of a king's death plays one of the most important roles in the play. The reason for the play is to find out the guilt or innocence of King Claudius. The play is about how a king is murdered and his wife taken by another just like the Ghost told Hamlet in the woods. During the play Hamlet also acts weird while watching Claudius as Horatio watches Claudius.
As Claudius watches the play he becomes fearful and guilty of his role in his brother's death. He becomes worse and worse until finally he stands up suddenly and it seems as if he's almost running out of the Great Hall. Before the play begind his mother asks him to come up and sit by her. He refuses. He does this because of a few things. His actions give him a chance to play his crazy self, keep an eye on His uncle's expression and with the added bonus of showing his disdain for his mother's marriage to his uncle.
